Norwegian Ski Jumpers Make Their Mark with New Coach in Wisła

The Norwegian ski jumping team is gearing up for the Summer Grand Prix in Wisła, scheduled for September 14-15. Under the guidance of new head coach Magnus Brevig, the roster includes notable jumpers such as Johann Andre Forfang, Halvor Egner Granerud, Marius Lindvik, Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal, and promising newcomer Isak Andreas Langmo. This competition marks a significant milestone as it will be the team's first outing without former head coach Alexander Stoeckl, who has transitioned to coaching the Polish team.

The Norwegian Ski Federation (NSF) recently revealed the five-member lineup for the Grand Prix, an important opportunity for evaluation in preparation for the World Championships set to take place in Trondheim.

Coach Magnus Brevig, who stepped into the role in July, expressed his enthusiasm about the upcoming event in Poland, seeing it as a chance to measure their preparations and assess the team's readiness for the new season.

Changes in Coaching Staff

Previously, Alexander Stoeckl held the position of head coach for the Norwegian team since May 2011, with Brevig assisting him. The shift in coaching began after concerns regarding Stoeckl's leadership were voiced in a letter to the NSF, culminating in Brevig’s appointment following some internal team disputes.

Norwegian media are closely watching this competition, highlighting its importance as it pits the former coach against his old assistant and athletes, especially focusing on Forfang’s performance.
