Nika Prevc from Slovenia won convincingly at the opening of the ski jumping world cup in Lillehammer. Two Norwegian hopes performed well, finishing in fourth and fifth place.

Particularly, 16-year-old Ingvild Synnøve Midtskogen shone, finishing fifth with impressive jumps of 131.5 and 125 meters, thereby breaking her previous best result in the World Cup, which was an 18th place.

Anna Odine Strøm jumped 133 meters in the final round and contributed to a solid day for Norway with her fourth place.

Eirin Maria Kvandal appeared to be Norway's strongest contender, but she failed a suit control and was disqualified.

However, the Slovenian teenager Prevc excelled, jumping the longest in both rounds. She won by a margin of 22.3 points over Germany's Katharina Schmid, who finished second, with Selina Freitag from Germany taking third place.
