Austrian jumpers Jacqueline Seifriedsberger and Eva Pinkelnig achieved a podium finish in the Superteam event of the World Cup held in Zao, Japan. The veteran duo from the ÖSV reached 643.1 points, finishing a mere 0.1 points behind the second-placed Norwegian team of Thea Minyan Björseth and Eirin Maria Kvandal. The win went to the German pair, Selina Freitag and Agnes Reisch, after six rounds of competition.

Seifriedsberger, leading her team in the first round, jumped 93.5, 93, and 95.5 meters. Pinkelnig contributed distances of 92, 98, and 93.5 meters. Despite a slip into fourth place, they managed to salvage third place by the final round. Notably, Kvandal missed her chance after a fall during landing. The German team extended their lead in the Nations Cup this season, with 2243 points, followed by Norway with 2028 points and Austria at 1842 points.

The experienced Pinkelnig humorously referred to herself and Seifriedsberger as "grannies" competing against a younger international field. "We were definitely the oldest girls here," Seifriedsberger confirmed. Pinkelnig expressed her excitement, saying, "It's super cool. We are on the right path." A singles competition is scheduled for Sunday on the normal hill, with Pinkelnig finishing third in the earlier event on Friday.
