Noriaki Kasai advanced to the competition in Sapporo on Sunday, setting a new personal milestone as the oldest participant in a World Cup ski jumping event. Although he failed to get through the qualifications on Friday, finishing 52nd, he improved his performance on Sunday to secure a place in the main contest.

In his first series, the 52-year-old Japanese legend delivered a 105-meter jump, which eventually placed him in 45th position. Speaking to Eurosport, Kasai explained his passion for ski jumping: "I love ski jumping and that’s why I don’t want to retire from the sport. If you love ski jumping, keep jumping as long as you can."

By competing in this high-level event, Kasai has once again raised the bar, extending his record as the oldest competitor in the World Cup to 52 years, 8 months, and 10 days. His achievement is a testament to his dedication, inspiring both fans and fellow athletes to pursue their passion regardless of age.
