Pius Paschke proved that his victory in the opening World Cup competition in Lillehammer was not a fluke. In the second competition of the year, the German had to concede superiority to Jan Hoerl, but he maintained his lead in the overall World Cup standings with a total of 180 points after the first weekend.

While the top spots were not occupied by Poles, fans hoped that things would change in Ruka, where additional World Cup events were scheduled. Our hope was primarily placed on Paweł Wąsek, who was previously ranked 17th. Aleksander Zniszczoł was in 23rd place (14 points), while Dawid Kubacki closed the third ten (30th place, 5 points), with Kamil Stoch just behind him (31st position, three points).
