Martin Schmitt, a name synonymous with ski jumping excellence, has not held back his opinion on Polish ski jumping. Speaking directly to sport.pl, he acknowledged that "the situation in Polish ski jumping is very difficult." Schmitt noted that the legendary era, marked by the brilliance of Kamil Stoch, Dawid Kubacki, and Piotr Żyła, is fading as these athletes are now in the latter stages of their careers.

He pointed out that among the current competitors, Paweł Wąsek – who currently sits in 13th place in the World Cup standings – shows promise, but overall, the team is in a poor position, with several athletes barely breaking into the top rankings. Schmitt stressed that it is time for one of the younger talents to assume a leadership role to drive the national team forward. With the World Championships in Trondheim set to begin on February 26 and run through March 9, Polish ski jumping faces its most critical test yet.
