Ski Jumping: Markus Eisenbichler: On the Way Back to the Team
After a disappointing year, ski jumper Markus Eisenbichler is determined to make a comeback. The athlete from Siegsdorf is aiming to rejoin the team under head coach Stefan Horngacher, emphasizing a stress-free approach in his preparations.
Eisenbichler missed the last World Cup season, competing only in the second-tier Continental Cup. He believes in learning from setbacks rather than simply forgetting them. "I’ve learned a lot about patience and calmness," he stated. In previous situations where he felt he was underperforming, he would react with haste, which led to further setbacks instead of progress. Now he recognizes the benefits of being relaxed in his approach to skiing.
As the World Cup opening in Lillehammer approaches, Eisenbichler feels optimistic about his return. "I am trying to do my best and improve my jumping compared to last year, and so far, things are looking promising." He acknowledges the expectations for high performance but aims to handle the pressure in a manner that allows him to succeed without stress.
