Marius Lindvik's remarkable journey

This was Lindvik's first gold since the 2022 World Championships and follows a successful summer where he was considered the best ski jumper in the world. In the competition, he secured the lead after setting a hill record with a jump of 108 meters in the first round.

"I'm really happy, mostly for Marius. He has worked incredibly hard, and it's touching to see his father supporting him every step of the way," said national coach Magnus Brevig to NRK.

Family support and dedication

Trond Lindvik, Marius' father, expressed disbelief at his son's achievement after a season filled with struggles. Marius switched back to old skis and boots, finding his form just in time for the championship.

"I’ve struggled to deliver my best jumps in competitions, so it feels great to do it now," said Lindvik.

Championship satisfaction

This victory is a significant morale booster for the Norwegian team, which aimed to secure two gold medals in the championships. Lindvik's triumph adds to Norway's legacy in ski jumping, having already made headlines with his past achievements at international competitions.

NRK reports that the Norwegian ski federation had not expected Lindvik's gold to come so early in the competition. With this win, the goal of the team is now realized, setting a high bar for the remaining events at the championship.
