Maciej Kot emerged victorious at the Continental Cup competition in Kranj on Sunday. The Polish ski jumper outperformed Austrian Manuel Fettner, a seasoned competitor who had recently impressed in the World Cup. This win, achieved by a slim 1.1 point margin, is Kot’s first victory in this season’s Continental Cup and represents a milestone for Polish ski jumping this winter.

During the event – the second Continental Cup competition held on the Bauhenk (HS 109) hill – Kot took the lead after his first jump of 106 meters, establishing a 0.6 point advantage over Fettner. Despite a break between rounds, the 33-year-old maintained his edge over the Austrian, eventually winning the event. Norwegian Fredrik Villumstad rounded out the podium in third place.

At 33, the Olympic bronze medalist from 2018 continues to strive for a return to the World Cup level. With this being his fifth career win in the Continental Cup, Kot’s performance is a promising sign ahead of upcoming World Cup competitions scheduled to be held in Lake Placid.
