The first weekend of ski jumping this season was not successful for Maciej Kot. The Polish jumper failed to qualify for the second series in both individual competitions at Lillehammer, earning 42nd and 43rd places respectively. Following these results, coach Thomas Thurnbichler decided to replace him with Andrzej Stękała for the next event in Ruka.
After his disappointing results, Kot stated on social media, "To forget." This reflects his sentiment after the challenging performances in Lillehammer. Thurnbichler, regarding the team's strategy, mentioned, "Ruka is not an easy hill. We need clarity on what we want to achieve. Maciej was jumping well for three weeks prior. He had a tough time in Lillehammer, so it's better for him to do some natural training jumps before returning to Wisła with a clear vision."
Kot's participation in Ruka has now been replaced, focusing on his training regimen alongside teammates Piotr Żyła and Kacper Juroszek, and the rest of the second team. The upcoming competitions will occur next weekend, with Kot sitting out while he prepares to regain his competitive edge.
