Last Chance for Piotr Żyła: He Has Nothing to Lose

There’s a considerable chance that we will see as many as five Polish ski jumpers in the final competition of this year's World Cup season in Planica, which would somewhat soften the bitterness of this year’s setbacks. The event will feature the 30 best jumpers from the overall standings, though Piotr Żyła currently sits outside that threshold. The 38-year-old has a significant gap to close and this is his last chance.
On March 24, 2025, at 15:00, in Planica, he needs to push himself to the limit to secure a place in the overall top 30 classifications. As of now, he ranks a concerning 35th with just 66 points, trailing nearly 40 points behind Wolny, who holds 30th place. It is a precarious situation for Żyła; however, based on his performances on large hills, hope can still flicker for Polish fans. Before him lies a demanding task ahead.
