In the Christmas break before the start of the Four Hills Tournament, the Austrian ski jumpers are taking a break with their loved ones. Before the ÖSV eagles aim for victory in the traditional jump spectacle, they are recharging their batteries at home with good food and relaxation. During Christmas, Stefan Kraft, Daniel Tschofenig, and Jan Hörl have various traditions but agree that their recent triple win in Engelberg was the best gift.

For the family members, gifts have long been sorted. "We have been doing a Secret Santa for two years now, which made things much easier for me this year," Kraft said in an interview. Hörl was already done with his gifts in November, stating, "I was quite early this year. I bought everything on Black Friday, and it all went according to plan." Only Tschofenig felt a bit rushed, saying, "It was a bit stressful this year, but we do a Secret Santa too, which makes it easier."

At their holiday meals, the three Austrian ski jumpers have different dishes on their tables. Overall World Cup winner Kraft looks forward to Boeuf Stroganoff on Christmas Eve, while traditionally at his family’s, they have roast pork from grandma on December 25. Tschofenig's family likes to switch things up each year, often sticking with classics like Raclette or Fondue. This year, he's looking forward to a surprise dish his mom will prepare, while he collaborates with his girlfriend Alexandria Loutitt on dessert.

Hörl is hosting this year stating, "We're celebrating at my place this year, so I can skip the car ride," and laughing as he added they will prepare sandwiches for a cozy meal, which is a good solution for everyone.
