During the qualification round for the World Cup event in Sapporo, the Polish ski jumping squad had mixed results. Paweł Wąsek emerged as the best performing of the Poles by clearing a 127.5 m jump, which secured him the 14th position and a spot in the competition. In contrast, Kamil Stoch had a disappointing round, landing a 116.5 m jump which saw him finish in 35th place and miss out on a favorable start.

The qualifying session also provided excitement for the fans from the very beginning. Supporters gathered near the Okurayama hill celebrated the advancement of the legendary Noriaki Kasai, who at 52 years old, set the record as the oldest participant in the history of the World Cup. Shortly thereafter, Kacper Juroszek represented the Polish colors by achieving a jump of 112.5 m and qualifying from 43rd place. Another Polish jumper, Maciej Kot, although confronting less than ideal conditions during his attempts, managed to secure the 16th position with a 125 m jump.

The qualifiers were won by Slovenian Domen Prevc, who has been in impressive form throughout the weekend at Okurayama. He posted a winning jump of 138.5 m, while his compatriot Timi Zajc finished close behind with a 138 m jump. Johann Andre Forfang also matched that distance to complete the podium.

Overall, the session highlighted both the promise and the challenges within the Polish ski jumping team as they prepare for the upcoming World Cup event in Sapporo.
