In preparation for the upcoming World Cup events, Polish ski jumpers will train in Wisła. Kamil Stoch will be among them, as indicated by his personal coach Michal Doleżal in an interview with Skijumping.pl.
Doleżal stated, "We hope that the ski jumps will be ready by Wednesday. We want to do some training before heading to Engelberg."
This spring, Doleżal joined the coaching staff of the three-time Olympic champion to help him make a comeback. While progress has been noted, Stoch still has some way to go. His 135-meter jump during the Saturday competition in Titisee-Neustadt was particularly impressive.
Many believe that Stoch faces more mental challenges than technical ones. Doleżal emphasized, "It’s more of a mental issue. We need to look at it from a broader perspective. Kamil showed very good jumps during the summer, but injuries and a 5-6 week break have set him back. The rest of the world continued to work, so he definitely misses some of that time. What’s important now is that he regains that feeling and no longer feels that significant pressure."
The Gross-Titlis-Schanze, where the next World Cup events will take place, is one of Stoch's favorite ski jumps. The Polish athlete has stood on its podium ten times.
