Ski jumping: Joséphine Pagnier Wins in Engelberg

Joséphine Pagnier continued her impressive performance in ski jumping by winning the large hill event in Engelberg, Switzerland, on December 15, 2023. With a total of 293 points, she edged out Canadian world champion Alexandria Loutitt (290.2) and Slovenian jumper Ema Klinec (289.4). This victory marks Pagnier's second win in three competitions, solidifying her position at the top of the overall rankings.

Pagnier, 21, finished second in the first round with a jump of 132 meters and followed up with a 135.5-meter leap in the final round. Despite Klinec leading after the first round, a significant misstep in her landing during the last jump allowed Pagnier to claim the top spot. Looking forward, Pagnier commented, "Winning in World Cup events is significant, and I am grateful for these opportunities. My confidence soared after Lillehammer, and I'm focused on building a solid foundation for future competitions."

Pagnier will compete again on Saturday for the second event of the weekend in Engelberg, where she hopes to extend her winning streak.
