Robert Johansson emerged victorious at the first of this weekend’s four Continental Cup ski jumping events in Iron Mountain, USA. Having jumped 138 meters in the first round, he maintained his form with a 136-meter leap in the final round. His consistent performance—finishing as the second-best in both rounds—allowed him to outscore his rivals and secure the last available spot at the upcoming World Championships, a position made available following Halvor Egner Granerud’s injury.
Markus Müller claimed the second spot, finishing 5.3 points behind Johansson, while German jumper Markus Eisenbichler moved into third place with the best jump of the final round. Fredrik Villumstad, who was in contention from the start, ended up in fifth place overall after a less competitive final jump. The Norwegian Ski Federation will allocate the last World Championship ticket based on these results, with additional events taking place over the weekend to further determine rankings.
