Jason Colby experienced a tragic end to his training session at the Adam Małysz Ski Jump in Wisła. The 19-year-old ski jumper made an error during his landing, resulting in a fall and a broken collarbone. Colby left the hill on his own but was immediately taken to the hospital where the injury was confirmed. In an interview with Skijumping.pl, Colby shared details about his condition, stating that he takes full responsibility for the fall, attributing it to a combination of poor landing and lack of preparation. He mentioned he will need surgery and is hopeful to make a comeback in about a month, expressing a desire to participate in the Junior World Championships in Lake Placid.
Meanwhile, the first training session proceeded despite challenging weather conditions, which had initially raised concerns about potential cancellations. A total of seven Polish jumpers, including Kamil Stoch and Dawid Kubacki, are set to compete in the upcoming individual competition in Wisła, which begins at 15:05. The news follows a weekend of significant events within the ski jumping community, highlighting both triumphs and unfortunate incidents.
