In Lake Placid, the Austrian ski jumping team secured a double victory in the Ski Jumping World Cup – a first since the Vierschanzen Tournee. Daniel Tschofenig, with a spectacular final jump under difficult wind conditions, edged out his teammate Jan Hörl by six points to clinch his eighth win of the season.

Tschofenig led the overall World Cup standings with 1,506 points, followed by Hörl with 1,303 points and Stefan Kraft, who finished 14th this weekend, with 942 points. The podium was rounded off by Slovenian Anze Lanisek in third place, who finished with a 12.8-point deficit, and Norwegian Johann Andre Forfang, who completed the top five along with Japan’s Ryoyu Kobayashi and Norway’s Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal.

The results not only underline the strength of the ÖSV, which leads the Nationencup with 6,346 points ahead of Norway and Germany, but also add momentum to the team heading into the next stop in Sapporo next weekend. With a total of 21 World Cup events so far this season, the Austrian team is showing strong international form in ski jumping.
