Coach Thomas Thurnbichler justified his decision not to include the 37-year-old based on the results of the Polish athletes in the overall World Cup standings. This triggered an uproar among many fans and experts.

Despite being absent, Stoch remains in constant contact with the team. "He may not be physically here with us, but we feel his support," Piotr Żyła mentioned in a conversation with Interia.
