The news that Kamil Stoch would not participate in the World Championships in Trondheim hit the Polish media in mid-February. Coach Thomas Thurnbichler justified his decision not to include the 37-year-old based on the results of the Polish athletes in the overall World Cup standings. This triggered an uproar among many fans and experts.

Despite being absent, Stoch remains in constant contact with the team. "He may not be physically here with us, but we feel his support," Piotr Żyła mentioned in a conversation with Interia. Dawid Kubacki added that the three-time Olympic champion wished his teammates success and congratulated them on their satisfactory performance on the normal hill.

Kubacki emphasized that he has never attended a championship event without Stoch being present. "It’s unfortunate because he worked to be in Trondheim with us. There’s always a first time for something like this," he remarked. He expressed his belief that they will have more opportunities to jump together in the future.

Kubacki summarized, "Kamil has shown many times in the past that when there are championship events and pressure, he can rise to the occasion. He proved this with good results. It’s a pity he’s not with us, but it’s too late to change that now."

Polish competitors are now preparing for the large hill competition. The team event is scheduled for Thursday, March 6, followed by the individual competitions two days later.
