Changes to the Holmenkollen Ski Jumping Schedule

In a notable shift for the 2025 ski jumping season, the traditional Sunday competition at Holmenkollen will be rescheduled to Thursday. The decision was finalized during the recent autumn meeting of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS), as announced by the Norwegian Ski Federation.
Mark your calendars for Thursday, March 13, 2025, when both female and male jumpers will take to the skies, just four days after the Ski World Championships conclude in Trondheim.
The Holmenkollen event remains an integral part of the Raw Air series, culminating with three days of thrilling competitions in Vikersund the following weekend. Notably, for 2025, the series will not include events in Trondheim, a departure from the 2024 schedule, due to the overlap with the World Championships.
Ståle Villumstad, the project manager with the Norwegian Ski Federation, expressed enthusiasm about Raw Air 2025. He highlighted the opportunity to showcase the stars of the World Championships in Holmenkollen and Vikersund shortly after the event in Trondheim.
In another exciting development, the FIS Jumping Committee is open to exploring the possibility of longer jumps in the future. Discussions regarding increasing hill sizes for ski flying have revealed a positive atmosphere in Zurich, and this topic is set to be revisited during FIS's spring meeting in 2025.
