Ski Jumping World Cup - Hörl triumphs in Lillehammer, Tschofenig 3rd

Austria's ski jumpers showcased their dominance once again on Sunday at Lillehammer, with Jan Hörl taking first place. The only interruption to an Austrian sweep was from Germany's Pius Paschke, who finished second, while Daniel Tschofenig rounded out the podium in third.

The 26-year-old from Salzburg impressed with jumps measuring 137 and 139.5 meters, finishing 7.5 points ahead of Paschke and 11.5 points above Tschofenig, who expressed his excitement about achieving another podium.

Hörl remarked, "It was a great day, everything went perfectly from the qualification on, and I'm really happy. My second jump was particularly good," indicating his satisfaction with his performance.

Strong Team Dynamic

Tschofenig celebrated the team's positive energy, stating, "It was really cool to be on the podium twice here in Lillehammer. I hope we can carry this dynamic to Ruka next."

Stefan Kraft, the defending World Cup titleholder, finished fourth after struggling to secure a podium position but maintained a positive outlook: "I'm very happy, the three who jumped today were just the best. Just a little more is needed, but my second jump was as I wanted it to be."

The Austrian team demonstrated their depth, with young talent Maximilian Ortner and veteran Manuel Fettner finishing eighth and ninth, respectively. Notably, five Austrian competitors placed in the top ten, showcasing the strength of the team early in the season.
