Gold for the women jumpers: VM chief confirms measures after another drop in audience
The Norwegian women jumpers achieved an impressive gold medal in team jumping during the World Championships, yet it was noted that many spectators left the Granåsen arena before the competition began. VM chief Åge Skinstad has acknowledged this drop in attendance and plans to implement measures to ensure that more spectators stay for the entire event.
Despite the tickets being sold out, the seats in the arena appeared sparse during the afternoon team competition. Several factors, including long event durations and family obligations, have contributed to this trend, leading to discussions about the need for ticketing adjustments.
Skinstad confirmed they are in talks about selling dedicated ticket packages for future ski jumping events to improve situation and retain spectators throughout the competition days. He hopes that these changes will be in place for upcoming events.
This discussion follows a disappointing turnout at the previous day's events as well, where it was observed that many fans left before the exciting women’s competition that had been eagerly anticipated.
