Paweł Wąsek Claims Victory in the Summer Grand Prix!

Paweł Wąsek has triumphed in the Summer Grand Prix series! Leading up to the event in Klingenthal, it was clear that Wąsek’s victory depended on two specific conditions. The first condition was met early in the competition; the second unfolded during the event itself.

The German competition showcased impressive jumps, but both Dawid Kubacki and Aleksander Zniszczoł encountered difficulties in their performances.

On October 5, 2024, at 5:46 PM, it was officially announced that Wąsek had secured the Summer Grand Prix title. Prior to the final event in Klingenthal, his success hinged on the outcomes of other competitors. For instance, if Alex Insam from Italy had placed in the top ten, it could have jeopardized Wąsek’s lead. Fortunately for Wąsek, Insam managed only a jump of 121.5 meters and did not qualify for the second round. Meanwhile, Austrian jumper Jan Hoerl, who was eighth after the first jump, went on to win the overall competition.

In the first round, both Zniszczoł and Kubacki took part. Zniszczoł made a jump of just 120.5 meters, which did not allow him to advance, while Kubacki recorded 127.5 meters, qualifying in 28th place.

Wąsek shone with an outstanding jump of 142 meters during the first round, placing him among the leaders. He followed up with a 120.5-meter jump in the second round, finishing in ninth place, which ultimately ensured his victory in the Summer Grand Prix series.

The final results showcased Marius Lindvik as the event winner with a commendable second jump of 138.5 meters. Timi Zajc and Halvor Egner Granerud completed the podium in second and third places, respectively.
