The Norwegian Ski Federation has confirmed that Robert Johansson is set to replace Halvor Egner Granerud in the World Championship squad. Granerud, originally selected for the team, suffered a knee injury during training last week and will be unable to compete in the championship on home soil.

Johansson secured his place after an impressive weekend in the Continental Cup in the USA, where he achieved two victories along with a third and a seventh place finish over four events. As the best performing Norwegian jumper across all the events, his form earned him the well-deserved spot on the team.

Sport director Jan-Erik Aalbu commented in a press release, “With Robert, we gain a highly decorated and experienced athlete who has a number of strong performances from both the Olympics and previous world championships. He knows what is required and will complement the team in an excellent way.”

The championships in Trondheim will host four events for the men’s jumpers: the normal hill event, the mixed team competition (large hill), the team competition (large hill), and the individual large hill event.
