Ski Jumping: Granerud Wins the Four Hills Tournament
Norwegian Halvor Egner Granerud has won the 71st edition of the Four Hills Tournament by claiming victory in the final round this Friday at Bischofshofen, Austria. Granerud's performance clinched him the overall title, marking him as the eleventh Norwegian to achieve this feat, the first since Anders Jacobsen in 2007.
In the decisive round, Granerud scored 313.4 points, outpacing Anze Lanisek from Slovenia, who earned 305.5 points, and Poland's Dawid Kubacki who recorded 303.7 points. Although Kubacki had won the prior round in Innsbruck, it was Granerud who dominated the tournament overall.
For his final jump, Granerud soared to a distance of 143.5 meters, just shy of the ramp record of 145 meters set by Kubacki in 2019. This triumph marks Granerud’s third victory in the tournament, solidifying his status as a top competitor in ski jumping. The final standings revealed Granerud amassed a total of 1191.2 points, significantly higher than Kubacki’s 1158.2 and Lanisek’s 1129 points, further enhancing his lead in the ski jumping circuit.
