On Saturday, spectators witnessed one of the least fair competitions of the 2024/25 World Cup season in Willingen, where unpredictable wind played a major role during both the first and second rounds. Polish team leader Paweł Wąsek was notably affected, recording two poor jumps that resulted in a 19th place finish, while the best result among the Poles came from Dawid Kubacki who moved up from 8th to finish 14th.

Germany Cancels the Alarm. Great News Ahead

The troublesome headwinds that hindered many competitors in the previous contest were initially forecast to reappear. The German Meteorological Service had even issued an alert regarding possible frost conditions, with early morning temperatures predicted to drop to -6°C before 9 AM. However, the alert was later cancelled.

Forecasts now indicate that conditions will improve: at the start of the qualifications at 14:30 the temperature is expected to be around 3°C with no rain, and although it will cool slightly by the time the competition begins at 16:10, temperatures are expected to remain above freezing until the very end of the event.

Live coverage of the qualifications and the Sunday competition will be available on the Przegląd Sportowy Onet website.
