German Women Crash in the Second Round

The German ski jumping team faced disappointment during the conclusion of the Two Nights Tour held on January 1, 2025, in Oberstdorf. Despite a strong first half, they failed to secure a podium finish. The winner, Nika Prevc from Slovenia, delivered an impressive jump of 134.5 meters, winning the competition and securing her second overall title of the tour.

Selina Freitag, who led after the first round, dropped to fifth place after tricky conditions affected her second jump. Katharina Schmid finished fourth, while Agnes Reisch showcased another solid performance, finishing seventh. Meanwhile, Juliane Seyfarth ended the competition in sixteenth place after also struggling in the second round.

Bundestrainer Heinz Kuttin expressed his disappointment that the team narrowly missed the podium, emphasizing the need for focus during jumps. This year’s Two Nights Tour highlighted the ongoing fight for equality in ski jumping for women, as athletes hope to compete soon on traditional venues such as Innsbruck and Bischofshofen.
