Four Hills Tournament: Anze Lanisek Wins in Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Anze Lanisek has won the Garmisch-Partenkirchen stage on January 1, 2024, as part of the prestigious Four Hills Tournament. With a score of 295.8 points, Lanisek showcased exceptional skill in what is the second competition of the series, following the event that took place in Oberstdorf, Germany. Ryoyu Kobayashi, a two-time overall winner of the tournament, finished in second with 292.6 points, while Andreas Wellinger secured third place with 291.4 points.

Wellinger, who won the first event in Oberstdorf, remains the overall leader of the tournament but holds only a slim margin, just 1.8 points ahead of Kobayashi. The top five is rounded out by Austrian jumpers Stefan Kraft, Manuel Fettner, and Jan Hoerl.

French athlete Valentin Foubert achieved his career-best performance in the World Cup, finishing 32nd with a score of 118.9 points, just outside of the top 30 and qualification for the final round. The next competition is scheduled to take place in Innsbruck, Austria, with qualifications on Tuesday and the main event on Wednesday.
