At the Ski Jumping World Cup in Lake Placid, Norwegian jumper Johann Andre Forfang emerged victorious, relegating the Austrian ÖSV-Adler team’s Jan Hörl and Daniel Tschofenig to the second and third spots respectively. Forfang’s impressive jumps of 130.5 and 121 meters secured him his sixth win overall, after having finished runner-up in four of his five most recent competitions.

Jan Hörl was just 2.9 points behind the season’s first-time winner, while Vierschanzentournee champion Tschofenig was 4.5 points adrift. Other athletes also featured in the top ten, with Maximilian Ortner finishing sixth and Stefan Kraft landing in ninth, though Kraft expressed dissatisfaction after recording jumps of 118.5 and 122 meters. Markus Müller finished in 12th place, and Michael Hayböck, who had announced his retirement at the season’s end, dropped eleven positions to 17th after experiencing difficulties due to adverse wind conditions.

The result cements Forfang’s status as one of the leading competitors this season, while Jan Hörl celebrated his eleventh World Cup podium finish of the season. The event in Lake Placid once again highlighted the high level of international competition in ski jumping.
