Johann André Forfang made an impressive showing, securing the fifth place in the qualification round for the New Year's ski jump in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. All the Norwegian athletes were successfully qualified for the event, showcasing a strong performance ahead of one of the season's key competitions.

The top performance in the qualification round came from Austria's Jan Hörl, who jumped 137.5 meters, leading the standings. Forfang, who had previously ranked second in the training rounds, matched this distance with precision in front of the German audience.

Viaplay commentator Kasper Wikestad praised Forfang’s consistency, noting, "He jumps like a clock now."

Other Norwegians like Fredrik Vilumstad and Halvor Egner Granerud also made solid jumps of 133 meters and 130 meters respectively, securing their places in the New Year's event. Marius Lindvik and Benjamin Østvold recorded jumps of 128 and 127 meters, further establishing Norwegian dominance.

This New Year's ski jump event will culminate in a competition in the Bergisel ski jump in Innsbruck on January 4, followed by the final event at Paul Ausserleitner hill in Bischofshofen two days later.

Greet the New Year with thrilling ski jumping!
