Everything is open! The leader's advantage is melting away.
Only 94 points is the current lead of Daniel Tschofenig over Jan Hoerl in the race for the Crystal Ball. The lottery-like competition in Vikersund has made the fight for the overall triumph in the Ski World Cup more heated than ever. Polish athletes, who have not played a significant role in the World Cup for a long time, can only watch the contest for the Crystal Ball unfold.
Check out the current situation in the overall standings:
The competition for the Crystal Ball at the end of the winter season will be fought between Tschofenig and Hoerl, while the third in the overall ranking, Stefan Kraft, trails the leader by over 500 points. There is a true gap separating the Polish representatives from the leaders.
The best-placed Polish skier is Pawel Wasek, ranked 16th with 508 points, over 1100 points behind Tschofenig. In the Vikersund competition, Wasek finished in 12th place.
Aleksander Zniszczoł came in 18th place on Sunday, and is ranked 22nd in the overall standings with 227 points. Kamil Stoch is 32nd, having finished 19th in Vikersund.
