Drama of the World Cup Leader! "Excluded" from the fight for the World Championship medal

Daniel Tschofenig did not envision his start at the World Championships going this way. As the World Cup leader, he had high hopes but fell short when he only managed a jump of 97 meters in the first series, leaving him on the brink of elimination from the final round. Tschofenig's performance left him visibly upset, as he quickly left the venue without engaging with the media.
In contrast, Norwegian jumper Marius Lindvik took the gold and set a new hill record, dominating the competition. Austrian ski jumping fans had mixed feelings, celebrating Jan Hoerl's third place while lamenting Tschofenig's poor showing, which he himself described as a painful setback. He expressed frustration during an interview with Austrian television ORF, stating, “I’m disappointed! This really hurts.” despite a better jump in the second series, it was not enough to place him back in contention, finishing only 21st. Tschofenig's disappointment was palpable and he knew he could have done better, especially given his earlier season successes.
The disappointment now gives way to hope as he looks forward to upcoming mixed, team, and individual competitions at the H-138 ski jump, where he will aim for redemption and a chance at the podium.
