Decision on Piotr Żyła's Participation in Zakopane

After the competition in Lahti, the Polish Ski Association announced that Piotr Żyła has been selected for the Continental Cup weekend in Zakopane. Recently, the veteran skier has positively surprised fans with his performance. Additionally, the complete lineup of the Polish national team will be revealed after the FIS Cup events on Friday.

During the past weekend's competition in Lahti, Żyła performed excellently. On Saturday, he proved that he cannot be underestimated, finishing as the best Polish athlete in fifth place. Sunday was even better for the three-time world champion as he secured a second-place finish,

"Piotr Żyła will compete in the Continental Cup in Zakopane. The full lineup of the Polish national team will be confirmed on Friday after the FIS Cup competition," announced the Polish Ski Association on platform X.

On Sunday in Lahti, Żyła achieved a commendable jump of 129 meters in the first round, landing him in fourth place at the halfway mark. He improved by half a meter in the second round, which instilled optimism, especially given that his competitors achieved shorter distances. Ultimately, Żyła finished impressively in second place, losing only to Markus Mueller, who jumped 138.5 meters in the first round.
