A decisive announcement has been made regarding Friday's ski jumps in Ruka! It has been revealed that the qualifications for the World Cup event have been canceled. The athletes will not be jumping today and will return to the famous hill on Saturday. The reason behind this decision is the extremely strong gusts of wind, which made safe competition impossible.
Friday's qualifications were always in doubt due to the predicted weather conditions, which were brutally unfavorable. Strong winds meant that it would have been very challenging to ensure safety for all participants. After delaying the start by several minutes, the final decision to cancel was finally made.
This means that our representatives will only be seen on the Ruka ski hill on Saturday. The qualifications include Polish jumpers Jakub Wolny, Kamil Stoch, Dawid Kubacki, Aleksander Zniszczoł, and Paweł Wąsek. Official training is set for 1:30 PM, qualifications will start at 3:30 PM, and the main individual competition will begin at 5 PM.
