Dawid Kubacki Couldn't Withstand the Pressure. Cameras Captured His Gesture Towards the Judges

Dawid Kubacki performed very poorly in the first round of the competition in Vikersund, jumping only 142.5m, which obviously eliminated him from advancing to the second round. However, he jumped in very bad conditions and after landing, he made a gesture towards the judges, implying what he thought about having to jump in such lottery-like winds.
The competition on Sunday at the Vikersund ski flying hill was marked by unpredictable weather conditions. Due to these conditions, the women's competition, men's prologue, and several rounds of the men's competition had to be canceled or delayed multiple times.
Eventually, the event managed to start, but not all jumpers were able to compete in fair conditions. At the beginning of the competition, it resembled a ski jump contest rather than a ski flying event, with some jumpers not even surpassing the 100m mark.
Kubacki, unfortunately, faced extremely unfavorable and unpredictable conditions, similar to his teammate Maciej Kot, who only managed to jump 123.5m after significant issues in flight. Kubacki, although he landed farther at 142.5m, produced a very weak result on the mammoth ski hill.
After his jump, the Polish athlete did not hide his anger, expressing it through a symbolic gesture, stretching out his arms in disbelief and then showing an ironical thumbs up to the camera, suggesting to the judges that he could not achieve a good distance under such poor conditions.
Ultimately, Domen Prevc won the single-round competition in Vikersund with an impressive flight of 247m, setting a new personal record. Andreas Wellinger and Ryoyu Kobayashi also stood on the podium, with Wellinger having additional reasons to celebrate as he secured the overall title in the Raw Air series. The best among the Poles was Paweł Wąsek, who finished in 12th place.
