In a recent report by Sport.pl, it was revealed that Orlen, during the tenure of then-president Daniel Obajtek, aimed to sponsor a company that specializes in manufacturing skis for ski jumpers. This ambitious sponsorship deal was valued at over 25.5 million zlotys across a span of four seasons and included a proposal for the Orlen logo to feature prominently on the skis, serving as a significant advertising avenue.

The negotiation process was spearheaded by Orlen's German branch, with S.K.I. crafting initial design visuals for the project. However, the partnership fell through following the elections that prompted organizational shifts within the company, ultimately leading to Obajtek's dismissal from his position in February 2024.

Attempts to find alternative sponsors proved unsuccessful, forcing S.K.I. to halt production and consider a permanent shutdown. This initiative would have marked a continuation of Orlen's commitment to skiing, as the company was already a prominent sponsor of Polish skiing and had previously secured the naming rights for a ski jumping hill in Germany.
