Daniel Huber out of the season opener due to injury
Daniel Huber's season is off to a precarious start as he has sustained a knee injury that has forced him to withdraw from the World Cup event in Lillehammer. Huber, the reigning ski flying World Cup champion, expressed his disappointment, stating, "Of course, it hurts because I trained hard all summer to be in top form for the season opener, and now that's not possible." Maximilian Ortner has been called up as a replacement.
Huber began to experience pain in his knee after initial training jumps and returned to Austria where he is set to undergo an MRI to assess the injury's severity. His hope is that it is not serious and that he can return to the jumps soon. The first competition of the season is a mixed event scheduled for Friday, followed by two individual jumps on the weekend.
