Things took a dangerous turn during the ski jumping event in Wisła as Dawid Kubacki made his descent. While preparing to land after an impressive jump in the prologue, Kubacki suddenly lost control of his skis. Although he managed to touch down, disaster struck just seconds later when he was unable to stop and collided forcefully with the advertising barriers, much to the concern of spectators watching live on television. Thankfully, he emerged from the incident unscathed, and you can view the footage of his dramatic landing.
In the end, Kubacki did not secure a high-ranking position in the prologue for the Summer Grand Prix in Wisła. The victory went to Johann Andre Forfang, followed by Artti Aigro and Tate Frantz. Among the Polish contingent, Kamil Stoch shone brightest, finishing in sixth place.
Kubacki placed twelfth, struggling to secure a higher score due to his troublesome landing. It appeared that he lost control of his skis just before he hit the ground, leading to the crash into the barrier moments later.
The prologue competition faced challenging conditions, with the rain intensifying throughout the event. Alongside Kubacki, several other Polish jumpers competed: Pawel Wąsek finished eighth, Jakub Wolny tenth, Aleksander Zniszczoł fourteenth, and Maciej Kot fifteenth. Unfortunately, Kacper Juroszek and Adam Niżnik placed 31st and 42nd, respectively.
