Concerns Surround Kamil Stoch After Training Incident

A concerning incident has arisen regarding Kamil Stoch, the acclaimed ski jumper, as reported by the i.pl portal. During a training session at the Wielka Krokiew ski jump, Stoch experienced a mishap when he reportedly jumped too far.

"After landing, something snapped in his knee. An ambulance was not called, but it was clear that he was in significant pain; he was definitely not faking it," said his coach, Józef Jarząbek, who was closely monitoring the training session.

Currently, Kamil Stoch is gearing up for the upcoming season with a personalized training regimen that he designed himself. While his performance during the Summer Grand Prix in Wisła wasn't stellar, assembling his own coaching staff seems to have been a positive step.

"The situation I'm in now suits me very well, and I've actually found a fresh approach to jumping. And the energy..." he remarked in a recent conversation with Kamil Wolnicki.

Following the competitions in Wisła, Stoch returned to training, but it was during one of these sessions that the unfortunate incident occurred.

"Kamil jumped nearly 150 meters, but something snapped in his knee upon landing," recounts Coach Jarząbek, who witnessed the event at Wielka Krokiew. "An ambulance was not called, but it was clear that he was in pain, definitely not faking it. I hope nothing serious happened, perhaps just a pulled muscle," he added.

"What exactly happened? Only specialists will be able to determine that, but I can say for certain that he won’t be able to train for the next two to three days. I believe an MRI will be necessary to clarify the situation," he continued, mentioning that Stoch did not report for training the next day, on Friday.

It’s important to mention that this incident does not automatically imply severe consequences. Many athletes have jumped near the 150-meter mark at Wielka Krokiew and only experienced temporary discomfort. Let’s hope for a similar outcome for Stoch.
