"Ciężka noc" Piotra Żyły. Najlepszy z Polaków mówi wprost: nowa wizja

Piotr Żyła and Paweł Wąsek are preparing for the New Year's competition of the Four Hills Tournament in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. After the qualifications held on New Year's Eve, Żyła noted that he is expecting a peaceful night ahead. On Wednesday, he will compete against Jakub Wolny in the first KO series, while Wąsek, who performed best among the Polish competitors in the qualifications, is set to face Japanese skier Naoki Nakamura.

After the qualification round, Żyła shared his thoughts with Eurosport: “I expect a long night... I’m joking. It will be calm. There’s no need to get worked up like I did in Oberstdorf or Engelberg, where the first series didn’t go well for me. Whatever happens, I just want to jump my best, and that will suffice.” He also revealed that he overslept his qualifications in Engelberg on December 22 but managed to arrive just in time.

Wąsek, who finished 18th in the New Year’s Eve qualifications, emphasized that he tries to give his all in every jump. "I’ve been performing well for some time now. If my better jumps occur in judged series, I have nothing to worry about," remarked the 25-year-old. Wąsek ranked 10th in the first contest of the Four Hills Tournament in Oberstdorf and is optimistic about the upcoming competitions.

Wąsek also tested new approaches at the Garmisch-Partenkirchen ski jump. “The jumps definitely weren't perfect, but they were at a good level. We had a new vision for flying. We wanted to try something different. It’ll need to be analyzed whether it’s going in the right direction, or if we should revert to what worked in the past,” he assessed, noting that the ski jump in Ga-Pa suits him, raising hopes for even better results in the Wednesday competition.
