Change in Norwegian Ski Jumping Outfits Due to Scandal

A legal firm that was one of the sponsors of the Norwegian ski jumping team has decided to terminate their sponsorship contract. This decision comes in light of a scandal that emerged during the World Championships held in Trondheim.

"There is no doubt that placing our logo on the uniforms of a team that cheats is unacceptable," stated Dag Are Borresen, the communications director at Help, in an interview with VG.

The scandal began after reports were released showing Norwegian technicians tampering with the ski jumpers' suits. Such manipulation is strictly forbidden. Following the large hill competition, the Norwegians' uniforms were inspected, leading to disqualifications of several athletes.

Marius Lindvik, who had claimed a silver medal, was among those penalized. In a public statement, Lindvik expressed his shock, stating that he was unaware of any tampering with his outfit, calling the experience a nightmare.

Borresen added further insights at a press conference, saying, "It is sad that Norwegian ski jumping has destroyed the trust that has been built over the recent seasons. We have informed the Norwegian ski jumping team and the Norwegian Ski Association that we are immediately withdrawing from the sponsorship agreement."

In addition to Help, other sponsors of the Norwegian Ski Association include Nammo, Advanzia Bank, Toyota, Bildeler.no, and Fibra. Most of these partners have remained silent on the scandal. However, Fibra has stated that they intend to hold a special meeting regarding their involvement.
