Breakthrough for Polish Jumper in Wisła. Finally! "A Long Time Coming"
Over 2.5 years had passed since Jakub Wolny last scored points in the World Cup. On Saturday in Wisła, the Polish jumper broke his bad streak and will leave the Adam Małysz ski jump in a much better mood than last winter, when his weekend there ended before it really began.
Jakub Wolny finished in 26th place in the Saturday World Cup event in Wisła, thus earning his first points in the cycle since March 2022. "It has been a long time," he admitted. After poor performances in Ruka, our jumper finally has reasons for optimism.
In commenting on his success, he said, "Today I decided to approach this more aggressively, and it worked out for me. Of course, I would like to finish in higher spots, but for now, I have to enjoy what I've achieved."
Bad Memories from Wisła
Last season, Wolny's cup weekend in Wisła ended quicker than it began. After a disappointing qualifying jump, which reflected his entire previous season, he expressed negative views about his cooperation with David Jiroutek. For those comments, he was suspended by the Polish Ski Association.
On Sunday, Wolny will fight to leave the Adam Małysz ski jump with even better feelings. The individual competition will begin at 15:15 and will be preceded by qualifications.
