Norwegian ski jumper Thea Minyan Bjørseth sustained injuries in her left knee and elbow after a dramatic fall during a normal hill jump in Ljubno. In the first round she amazed the crowd by setting a hill record with an impressive 97‐meter jump, and she was in the lead heading into the final round. However, in her second jump she landed poorly, with her ski cutting into the landing area, causing her to fall harshly and remain on the slope.

After waiting for several minutes while receiving on-site medical attention, Bjørseth was carried off the hill. The fall has ended her season and dashed her dream of competing in the upcoming World Championships on home ground. She is currently being treated at a hospital in Ljubljana and will undergo further evaluations and treatment once she returns to Norway. This incident has also impacted team decisions, with no Norwegian jumpers taking part in the qualification round for the next competition in Ljubno.

Commentators expressed their shock at the fall, remarking on how devastating it was to witness such a mishap, and team officials have stressed the importance of ensuring the athletes' safety ahead of the World Championships.
