Ban for Norway?

Expert alarmed: "Now do not just hit hard!"

Former ski jumper and TV expert Werner Schuster has warned against condemning the Norwegian ski jumping team collectively following recent scandals surrounding missed conduct. He mentions the importance of addressing the problems constructively without excessively punishing the entire nation that has a rich history in ski jumping. Schuster, in a conversation on ServusTV's "Sport und Talk aus dem Hangar 7," expressed disappointment and shock at the scandal's revelations.

"We must not just lash out at the Norwegians. Yes, they have made mistakes that crossed boundaries they should never have crossed. The entire ski jumping community needs to come together," he said.

He elaborated further: "If I hear that no competitions should take place in Norway anymore, that would be a loss. Norway is a traditional country in ski jumping, and we cannot afford to lose that."

Schuster expressed a hopeful outlook despite his disappointment, emphasizing the need to restore trust within the sport and the respective oversight bodies, implying that they should maintain strict controls to ensure integrity within competitions. He urged cooperation to overcome these adversities and present ski jumping in the manner it truly deserves.

Despite the backlash, the expert underscores the value of Norway in the ski jumping realm and encourages ongoing dialogue aimed at preventing future issues.
