Bad News Before the Ski Jumpers' Competition at the World Championships. There Are Two Warnings

The organizers of the World Championships and the ski jumpers will be anxiously observing the weather conditions this Saturday afternoon and evening. In Trondheim, starting around 2 PM, a severe storm is expected, which could hinder the fair conduct of the qualifications before the World Championships (scheduled for 8:30 PM). However, this is only part of what will begin on Sunday. Norwegian authorities have already issued two alarming warnings. The first concerns the risk of flooding.

The World Championships in classical skiing have kicked off in Trondheim. The Polish ski jumpers have already completed their first training sessions on the normal hill, but their performance has been far from ideal. Unfortunately, the weather conditions are not favorable for athletes or organizers alike.

Forecasts for Saturday are concerning. It is expected to be overcast in Trondheim throughout the day, with a maximum temperature of 6 degrees Celsius. What’s worse, starting around 2 PM, very strong winds are predicted. During the qualifications, wind gusts could reach about 7.2 m/s, peaking at about 9 m/s!

Alarming Warnings in Trondheim

Sunday is expected to be even worse. For the day of the competition on the normal hill, from 7 AM onwards, two alarming warnings are in effect in Trondheim. The first concerns the risk of flooding, and the second of landslides due to the anticipated rain and increasing winds.
