
Austrian Eva Pinkelnig wins the New Year's Tournament

In Ljubno, Slovenia, on Sunday, Austrian Eva Pinkelnig won the first edition of the New Year's Tournament, inspired by the renowned Four Hills Tournament. Pinkelnig, who had already triumphed in two competitions in Villach earlier in the week, prevailed with jumps of 93.5m and 89.5m, totaling 253.4 points. She surpassed Norway's Anna Odin Stroem, who won the previous event at the same venue with 250.4 points, and Germany's Selina Freitag, who finished with 246 points. This victory marked Pinkelnig's fourth win of the winter in the World Cup, further reinforcing her lead in the overall standings with 1,030.3 points, followed by Stroem with 1,004 points and Slovenia's Nika Kriznar with 980.3 points. Meanwhile, French skier Joséphine Pagnier finished 11th at Ljubno, placing 17th in the overall tournament standings.
