Another Victory for Paweł Wąsek in Răsnov

Paweł Wąsek, the talented Polish ski jumper, once again showcased his skills by securing his second victory at Răsnov, bringing him closer to the coveted yellow leader's jersey in the Summer Grand Prix circuit. This weekend in Romania proved advantageous for the 25-year-old athlete, marking a significant moment in his career.

Before Sunday’s jump, Wąsek was brimming with confidence following his impressive win on Saturday, which was his first triumph in the Summer Grand Prix events. He was not only competing for victory but also had his sights set on clinching the leader's spot.

In the first round, Wąsek jumped a remarkable 93 meters, placing him at the top of the leaderboard. While Alex Insam matched his distance of 93 meters, Ren Nikaido took third with a 96-meter leap—remarkably the only one of the three to benefit from favorable wind conditions.

Jakub Wolny (95 m) and Kacper Juroszek (93.5 m) also had commendable performances, finishing fifth and seventh, respectively. Unfortunately, Maciej Kot faced challenges, ending the first round in 14th place with a jump of just 91 meters.

In the second round, Kot could not improve his standing, ultimately finishing in 17th place with a jump of 90 meters. Juroszek managed to soar to 7th place while Wolny improved by 1.5 meters, concluding in 6th.

Wąsek mirrored his Saturday performance, landing another jump of 96 meters and clinching victory once more in the LGP series. Despite his success, he still couldn’t take the lead, as Insam finished third and Nikaido secured second.

A Bright Prospect for Sponsorship

Although the level of competition in Romania may not have been particularly high, Wąsek's two victories send a strong signal to potential sponsors. In August, he announced the end of his collaboration with Daikin, and his helmet currently bears no sponsor logo, indicating he is on the lookout for a new deal.

The next leg of the LGP series will take place in Hinzenbach next week.
