Alexander Stoeckl recently spoke out about his split from the Polish Ski Association (PZN) following a board meeting in mid-February. In his conversation with Norway’s Dagbladet, he revealed that he was invited to a meeting where the board wanted to understand his reasons for resigning. Stoeckl stated that he simply upheld what he had already written in his resignation letter, making it clear that he did not intend to continue his work with the association.
He also mentioned that the legendary Adam Małysz was present at the meeting but did not speak or ask him to stay. Stoeckl described the discussion as courteous and constructive, noting that the board had hoped for some flexibility regarding his role. Despite the circumstances, he expressed positive memories of his time working in Poland, emphasizing the country’s immense potential in ski jumping with its qualified coaches, rich resources, and high work ethic among athletes and staff.
