Alexander Stoeckl Shares Ambitious Goals for Polish Ski Jumping

In recent days, headlines have erupted with news that the legendary coach Alexander Stoeckl has been recruited by Adam Małysz to lead Poland's ski jumping efforts. Known for his successful tenure with Norwegian ski jumping, the Austrian coach has revealed his vision for the future in his first statements since joining the Polish Ski Association as Sports Director for Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined.

Stoeckl emphasized the importance of looking ahead, stating, "We must know where ski jumping will be in ten years. Everything is important here; we need to combine many goals." His focus is on bridging the generational gap among athletes and elevating younger jumpers to new heights.

Having attended a recent training camp, Stoeckl engaged in discussions with established jumpers like Piotr Żyła and Dawid Kubacki. However, as he shared with Polish media, his primary role at that time was to observe the team's dynamics before finalizing his contract.

He expressed optimism about the potential within the federation and outlined his plans to harness this talent. "It will be very interesting. There is great potential in the federation and the team. I attended several team meetings and noticed the high motivation levels among coaches, service staff, and athletes," he remarked.

Although Stoeckl intends to reside in Norway, he will make regular trips to Poland to facilitate ongoing collaboration. He underscored the importance of teamwork and shared knowledge, stating, "The challenge is to eliminate the generational gap. We want to raise the younger generation to compete alongside the more experienced athletes."

With Stoeckl at the helm, Poland’s ski jumping future looks promising as he prepares to inspire the next generation of athletes.
