Alexander Stoeckl, a well-respected name in ski jumping, has recently embarked on an exciting journey as the sports director for ski jumping and Nordic combined at the Polish Ski Association, a change confirmed by none other than Adam Małysz. His primary mission is to bridge the generational gap in the sport and uplift the younger athletes in Poland to new heights.

In an insightful interview with Kamil Wolnicki for Przegląd Sportowy Onet, Stoeckl candidly addressed the challenges ahead, particularly his struggles with the Polish language. He finds its unique structure quite different from both German and English. So far, Stoeckl has managed to learn just two phrases: "dziękuję" (thank you) and "dzień dobry" (good morning).

Although he will maintain his residence in Norway, Stoeckl has committed to making regular trips to Poland for his new role. While the exact schedule for these visits is still in the works, he reassured that they will be ample enough to allow him to actively participate with the local team and events.

Reflecting on his departure from the Norwegian team, Stoeckl admitted it wasn’t an easy transition. However, he has officially turned the page and is looking forward to the fresh opportunities that await him in Poland.
